The NFL betting line for Sunday’s matchup between two of the league’s unbeatens, San Francisco and Minnesota, are stacked towards the Vikings at home, and Minnesota’s edge at quarterback should be enough to get them a win.

The 49ers aren’t flashy, they just go straight at you, and Frank Gore epitomized that in a 23-10 win over Seattle as he ran over the Seahawks to the tune of 207 yards and two touchdowns on only 16 carries. Shaun Hill took care of the ball, going 19-of-26 for 144 yards, which are pedestrian numbers, but when you have a running back like Gore (who finally looks 100% healthy), why risk turnovers? Hill is a great game-manager, which is why he’s 9-3 as a starter with San Francisco. The 49ers were one of the top sleeper NFL picks to begin the season, and they’re proving why.

Brett Favre may be taking a page of Hill’s book as he kept it simple in a 27-13 win over Detroit, completing 23 of his 27 passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns. But Favre has the luxury of having the NFL’s best running back by his side, as Adrian Peterson added 92 yards and a touchdown to his stats. The Minnesota defense forced a pair of picks out of rookie pivot Matt Stafford and three turnovers overall, but they can’t be happy about allowing 129 yards on the ground to a Detroit offense that, quite frankly, is awful.

Your gambling software will probably back the Vikings as well as they’ve won six of their last nine regular-season games at home, while the 49ers are a West Coast team making the trip east, and the 2008 Cardinals will tell you all about that. This will be a hard-hitting game features rushing and defense, and the matchup between Gore and Peterson will be fun to watch. But we have to give the edge to Favre over Hill, especially at home, and the 49ers have lost their last three trips to Minnesota by an average of just under 20 points.
