Get NFL Tickets on StubHub!Like taking Toronto’s 2009 World Series odds, going with Oakland’s Super Bowl odds would be an exercise in futility. However, the Raiders pulled off a big upset, and they’ll be home underdogs against when they host a vulnerable New York Jets team this Sunday.

Jets vs Raiders odds – Sunday, October 25, 4:05 PM ET

Mark Sanchez had a day to forget in a 16-13 overtime loss to Buffalo, as the rookie was 10-of-29 for 119 yards and five interceptions. This wasted a career day from Thomas Jones, who ran for 210 yards and a score on 22 carries, but it wasn’t enough to overcome what was probably the worst day Sanchez ever had on the football field. The rest of the Jets didn’t help him out with 14 penalties, and they’re not good enough to get past those sort of mistakes. The Jets’ NFL odds will get worse and worse if Sanchez and company make as many mistakes as they did last week.

The Raiders’ defense was the story in a 13-9 win over Philadelphia, holding the Eagles to 283 yards and only 67 on the ground. JaMarcus Russell had arguably his best game of the year with 224 yards on 17-of-28 passing, with a touchdown and two picks. Justin Fargas helped the young quarterback out with 87 yards and a score on the ground, but Russell looked a little more comfortable throwing down the field. He’s not C.C. Sabathia, a California native who may be leading the Yankees to a consensus in your World Series picks, in that he’s not a natural leader, but Russell looked as good as anyone has ever seen him in the pros.

The Jets are a 6-point favorite in your sportsbook, but the Raiders have won six of their 10 meetings with New York since 1999. These two seem to be going in different directions and it’s easy to say that Sanchez will struggle again, but let’s not forget, he’s a Southern California product, and he admitted he is still getting used to the cold in New York. This should be a return to form on both sides of the ball, as the Jets will blitz Russell into oblivion, and Sanchez should have his way with an Oakland defense that is still terrible, no matter what happened against Philly. Go with the Jets on the road as your online betting pick.
