NFL betting: Cardinals picked the wrong week to face angry Giants pass rush ![]()
The Giants are coming off a humiliating loss to the Saints, and sportsbook bettors want to know if they can rebound against the Cardinals. Arizona has won two straight, but it will be facing a very angry New York team searching for redemption.

NFL odds: Giants -7
The Giants were more or less put in their place by the Saints last Sunday. The defense, one of the best in the NFL—if not the best—looked absolutely helpless against New Orleans' passing attack. Drew Brees threw for 369 yards and four scores and, incredibly, was sacked just one time. That's not going to happen often to the Giants, and you can bet the G-Men are going to come out very angry this Sunday night.
Offensively, the Giants were just as underwhelming. Eli Manning has his worst game of 2009, going 14/31 for just 178 yards. Since it quickly fell behind 21, New York was forced to abandon the running game. Needless to say, the Giants must reestablish both facets of their attack this week. You can count on 30-plus carries between Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs, that's for sure.
Arizona has won two straight games, including a 27-3 thrashing of the division rival Seahawks. Seattle backers were getting excited about its chances in the NFC West, but Arizona quickly put that to rest. Kurt Warner was his usual solid self, throwing for 276 yards and a pair of scores. But good betting software tells you the running game remains a serious concern, as the Cards put up a paltry 62 yards on 26 carries (a 2.4 average).
The biggest surprise was Arizona's defense. Matt Hasselbeck shot the lights out against Jacksonville two weeks ago, throwing four touchdown passes, but the Cardinals bottled him up to 10/29 for 112 yards and a pick. Arizona racked up racked up five sacks and harassed Hasselbeck all day and, if it can sustain this kind of effort, the "D" greatly improves the Cardinals' long-term chances.
The Cardinals picked a bad week to face the Giants. New York had faced weak competition through the season and was caught off-guard by the imposing Saints. That won't be the case this week against Arizona; the Giants will be more than prepared to drop the hammer. Playing in front of a rapid home crowd, look for the Giants defense to give one of its best performances this season and terrorize Kurt Warner all day. New York covers on your NFL predictions.
