Jets To Keep Titans Slipping Down AFC Slope

Get NFL Tickets on StubHub!The Tennessee Titans are 0-2 right now and are in danger of matching their loss total from all of last year. The Titans were 13-3 last year but have not found the win column so far this season.

For the Titans, the problem has been two-fold. On offense, they have been too heavily reliant on their ground game and the reason for it is that their passing game just isn’t working. They are limited by Kerry Collins and they don’t have any real threats at the wide receiving positions. The secondary issue has been that their defense simply isn’t the same. Whether it’s the loss of Albert Haynesworth or the loss of defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, the Titans simply aren’t as dominant as they were last year.

The Titans are desperate to win this game – far more desperate than the 2-0 Jets – but that might not be enough against the best defense in the NFL.

Who Has The Edge:

The Jets Super Bowl odds are climbing by the second. They are 2-0, they have knocked off the New England Patriots and they haven’t allowed an offensive touchdown in either of their first two games.

After beating the Houston Texans (who then beat the Titans last week) and the Patriots, the Jets are a confident group. Their defense is rolling right now and their offense is doing enough to get the wins.

Against Tennessee, the football odds don’t favor the Titans because Tennessee is so heavily run-oriented and the Jets just simply won’t allow them to do their work that way. They are going to key in on Chris Johnson and force Kerry Collins to win the game for the Titans. Playing on the road with little help from the running game is a recipe for disaster for the Titans.
