The Lakers were badly outplayed in the second half, but managed to hang on and upend the Mavericks 102-100 on Tuesday night for its first victory in three game. The Lakers won the game as a 5.5-point road underdog, while the 202 points fell UNDER the posted total of 210.

Lakers star Kobe Bryant finished with 29 points on 12-of-23 shooting, but his teammates combined to make only 37.8 percent (25-for-66) of their shots. Bryant jammed his hip, but isn't expected to miss any time. Vladimir Radmanovic added 21 in the victory.

Los Angeles has lost six of its last eight games at Utah, including a 120-96 defeat on Nov. 30. The Lakers, though, averaged 121.0 points in winning their two home games against the Jazz this season.

Utah Jazz is also dealing with injuries entering this contest. Carlos Boozer had 13 points and 10 rebounds in a 96-79 win over Toronto Raptors on Monday night at EnergySolutions Arena, but left the game two minutes early with a strained back. But Boozer, averaging a team-high 21.4 points and 10.6 rebounds, is probable.

The Jazz covered the 14-point spread, but the combined score fell UNDER the posted total of 213.

Jazz starting center Mehmet Okur, meanwhile, left in the first quarter due to a stomach flu and his status is uncertain. Okur is averaging 14.0 points, but has been held to a total of 17 in two games against the Lakers this season.

Deron Williams led the Jazz with 21 points, and Kyle Korver added 17 in the win.
