Thiago Alves Is a dog in the octagon; he’s ferocious, big for a welterweight, and attacks his opponents relentlessly with his Muay Thai knees and devastating leg kicks. He’s a powerhouse who likes to be the aggressor and he can finish fights, as he showed with five straight knockout wins before he won by decision against Koscheck in his last fight.

Weaknesses

Some sportsbook betting predictions experts feel Thiago Alves is a one-dimensional fighter. He’s a phenomenal striker and, while his takedown defense is strong, he’s not too comfortable on the ground. If the world-class wrestler St-Pierre takes Alves to the ground, can Alves survive, let alone stand back up?
